Jocelyn Michel

Jocelyn Michel’s photos are inspired by theatre, fiction, and absurd humour. Michel applies his wild imagination and his skills to direct projects both serious and explosive. Human interactions are the focal point of his work. Approachable, understanding and naturally charismatic, he inspires confidence in his subjects in order to capture the appropriate emotion to create magic moments. Michel communicates with ease, rigorously staging his photos to deliver his message by tapping into the purest form of expression, interaction and movement. His aesthetic is inspired by surrealism and dada, as well as theatre and film, making him a master of storytelling and intrigue. Often preferring to retouch his own work, Michel is a meticulous and detail driven photographer continually searching for order and visual harmony.
